We can pick up right where we left off, the 1st of August was a big success! The streets were filled with local stalls offering delicious food and hand crafted items. Children, parents, and patrons alike were all enjoying the festivities. As the day carried on and the kids went to bed the club tents continues the party with wonderful people, great music, and the occasional firecracker lasting well into the evening. All in all making for another memorable year on Dorfstrasse!
While the weather was heating up everyone seemed to be looking for ways to cool down! In Engelberg we are so lucky to have elevation on our side. With so many easy to access lifts sometimes it's hard to pick between Titlis, Brunni, and Furenalp! Even though us local Engelbergers are know for being particularly fond of where we live, one of the great parts is how close to Vierwaldstättersee we are. We believe that a great view, a cup of Dark Side, some sunshine, and a bit of adventure makes for the perfect afternoon!
While the heat is generally not a problem for those working in the shop, our baristas could tell the record temps from the spike in Cafe Freddos. We love to see our specialty drinks taking off, and that people are loving our Early Bird Blend so much! That being said as the seasons begin to change, so does our Coffee. Gustaf and Oscar have been sampling new beans for the upcoming Blue Bird Blend, so make sure to get your fill before we run out!
For Andrea this has been a particularly busy month! In the store we have a whole new array of papeterie things including notebooks made from repurposed brewing waste and upcycled coffee cups. Between finding these, printing new cotton bags, cards, chocolate packaging, and managing the store decorations it's safe to say she has gone above and beyond! One of our favourite creations
to come from Andrea's ambitious August is her new small doublekarten. Don't let the start of September fool you, she's not done yet. New posters and postcards are still being created and we cant wait to see her designs!
We've noticed that back to school means books have been flying off our shelves. So we've made sure to stock up on more classics, bestsellers, and up and coming authors. On the off chance we don't have something in stock, remember we have access to most books within 24 hours of ordering them!
